TJK Specialists starting strong

It’s nice to see that all of the off-season training is paying off.  It’s obvious as players are converting kicks, punts, holds, and snaps.  Guys across the Southeast that have worked with Team Jackson Kicking have had some great jamboree games, as well as opening games.  IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER, I am going to list quite a few guys that have performed very well thru this thread.  Fell free to comment on our new website at www.teamjacksonkicking.com.  Also, if I missed you on your stats, message me on facebook or twitter!  There will be a late season showcase clinic on Saturday, NOV 10, 2012 – and it’s going to be an ‘Under the Lights Showcase’.  It will either be in Montgomery, AL or Valdosta, GA.  Players can start signing up as there are only 30 slots.  You can pay at the training and camps tab on www.teamjacksonkicking.com Sign up now before the slots get filled, and also take advantage of the early fee!

1. Tristan Parsley – P/K @ West Florida High School (FL)

Tristan Parsley, a Class of 2014 P/K started off with a great effort in the season.  He successfully averaged 46 yards per 5 punts.  His long was 56 yards, with 4 of the 5 punts going inside the 20 yard line.  One of his punts was downed on the 1 yard line. His performance helped the team tremendously with field position.

2. Matthew Alter – K/P @ Saint James School (AL)

Matthew Alter, a Class of 2013 K/P had a stellar beginning to the season. The senior went 6/6 on PATs and 1/1 on FGs with a make from 25 yards. His kickoffs were strong as well, converting 4/7 Touchbacks. The distances went for 62, 62, 61, and 64 yards. He also added a 45 yard punt that was downed inside the 5 yard line.

3. Izzy Hernandez – K @ North Murray High School (GA)

Izzy Hernandez is a very consistent kicker. He had a strong showing in his jamboree game, as well as his first game of the season. In his jamboree game, he went 2/2 on PATs and 1/1 on FGs that went for 39 yards.  He also went 2/3 on Touchbacks.  In his first game of season, he was only able to play the first half after being illegaliy hit after an extra point.  He went 2/4 on Touchbacks and added a FG of 29 yards.

4. Zach Shirah – P/K @ Northview High School (AL)

Zach showed his athletic ability as he helped the Northview Cougars pull off a victory to start off the season.  Zach went 1/1 on PATs and 1/1 on FGs that went for 25 yards. His notable play was on his punting ability.  He average 50 yards per 4 punts, with a long of 56.  One punt had a bad snap, that rolled back to him, in which he was able to pick it up, avoid a player and get the ball off at the end of the game.

5. Jeffrey Robinson – K @ Houston Academy School (AL)

Jeffrey is fundamentally sound, and is consistent. He is a Class of 2013 Kicker.  In his jamboree game he went 2/2 on PATs.  In his first game of the season he was perfect going 4/4 on PATs.

6. Brett Beeler – K @ Oak Ridge High School (TN)

Brett Beeler, a Class of 2013 Kicker, started off very strong for the season.  He went a perfect 4/4 on PATs and also a perfect 5/5 on Touchbacks.  His kickoff distances were 62, 62, 61, 61, and 72 yards.

7. James Sherman – K/P @ Montgomery Catholic School (AL)

James Sherman, a 5 star specialist in the Class of 2014, started off with a bang in his opener vs. St. Jude.  James went 3/4 on Touchbacks, 2/2 on PATs, and an amazing 3/3 on FGs that were all beyond 40 yards.  His long went for 48 yards, and he added a tackle too.  But most importantly, James connected on the game-winning field goal after being iced twice by the opposing head coach.

8. Bratcher Underwood – K/P @ Houston Academy School (AL)

He is a Class of 2014 K/P out of Dothan, AL and has showed very strong on his kickoffs.  In his jamboree game, he went 2/2 on Touchbacks (71, 65), and nailed a 36 yard field goal with plenty to spare.  In his opening game, Bratcher went 1/1 on PATs, 4/8 on Touchbacks, as the other 4 kicks were a squib, and 3 that averaged a 3.8 hang time inside the 5 yard line. Bratcher had a FG attempt of 55 yards, that had the distance, but just went wide.

9. Brandon Anderson – K @ Dale County High School (AL)

Brandon is a much improved specialist that has worked with TJK in the previous year.  Brandon is a Class of 2013 Kicker that has started well this season.  In his jamboree game, Brandon connected on a 41 yard field goal, added two tackles and a fumble recovery. He also converted 3/4 PATs in his opening game, with one being blocked.

10. Steven Macias – K/P @ Goshen High School (AL)

Steven is a great specialist in the Southeast, a Class of 2013 K/P out of Troy, AL. Steven connected on a 41 yard attempt as he went 1/1 on FGs and also added a Touchback in his first game of the season.

It just goes to show you that your off-season training has paid off for you.  There will be a TJK Night Under the Lights Showcase to be held on Saturday, Nov 10, 2012, from 5pm-8pm.  Locations will either be Montgomery, AL or Valdosta, GA. There are only 30 slots to be filled, and the early fee ends on October 19. Make sure to pay now and fill your slot to get some late season fine-tuning, and also a chance to compete in a showcase to win points, and compete in a tournament style competition.
