Team Jackson Kicking National College and Pro Camp Recap | Kickers Punters Long Snappers

Coach Brian Jackson of Team Jackson Kicking hosted the first ever TJK National College and Pro Camp in Mobile, Alabama on Feb 21-23, 2014. The camp welcomed 30 Specialists (Kickers, Punters and Snappers) from various colleges across the nation. All divisions of college football were represented from states as far as Wisconsin, to Texas, to North Carolina and more. For a small group of guys, there was a high percentage of extremely talented players, along with two draft eligible guys that can make a name for themselves.

There were several Specialists that attended the TJK Camp that are not in Division 1A. This sometimes creates a stereotype that Kickers, Punters and Snappers in lower divisions may not be as talented as the D1A guys. At this camp, that stereotype was put to shame. It was impressive to see everyone in camp compete, whether a small school, mid-major or a powerhouse, bring their A game and represent their school and name on their back. Check out of the group photo below at Camp.

Some of the group members opted to join the staff for off-the-field fun and tour the USS Alabama Battleship. This was a first-time experience for a lot of the guys and the group really enjoyed it!

Along with 3 field sessions of charting, drill work, competitions and tournaments, the Specialists that attended the TJK Camp received a discounted hotel price at the Hampton Inn & Suites, a couple meals, and two IMPORTANT conference room meetings. The meeting consisted of the “Mental Game”, what all is going on in your mind before, during and after each rep (practices and games). There was also a great video session on technique analysis of EVERY specialist that attended camp.
